FREE Access Counters and Trackers
Many Web sites use counters to show visitors how many times a page has been visited.
Aaddzz provides FREE counters in hundreds of font styles. These fonts
are from Digit Mania.

Aaddzz also provides FREE access reports
on pages with an Aaddzz ad space or tracker. These reports show information such
as what part of the country your visitors come from, what size screen they have, and other useful information. Click
to see a sample report.
If you'd like reports without displaying an ad, you can use an Aaddzz
tracker to generate reports.
An Aaddzz tracker can appear as one of the following small logos anywhere on your Web page:
Remember, ad spaces also generate reports, so there is no need to place
a tracker on a page that already has a ad.
Once you have created your counter or tracker, you may choose to allow visitors to view your reports.
If you do this, visitors that click on your counters or trackers are taken to a special reports page
that contains most of the information that is contained in your private reports.
Please note that, while your counter will provide a link to your Aaddzz reports
page, reports are only generated if you have an Aaddzz ad space or tracker on
your page.
Use Aaddzz to add up to five counters and five trackers to your Web pages.
Installing a Counter or Tracker
Aaddzz allows you to quickly create and configure a FREE counter or tracker in
just a few minutes.
- If you do not already have an Aaddzz account, Open an Account.
- Login to your account.
- In the Aaddzz Table of Contents, click Manage Pages.
- Click Create Counter or Create Tracker.
- In the Create Counter or Create Tracker form, type the URL of the page
where the counter or tracker will be displayed.
- Select a style of counter or tracker.
If you're selecting a counter:
- Click Preview to see how the counter appears.
- Select the maximum number of digits, justification, number leading
zeros, and if a transparent background should be used.
- Click Create.
Aaddzz displays a block of HTML code that generates the counter
or tracker you selected.
- Select the HTML code, copy it, and paste it into your Web page.
For the most accurate record of visits, place the HTML as close
to the top of your page as possible. Images listed first tend to
be shown first, so that if a person leaves your page before the
image is requested the visit will not be recorded.
- Click Test Page to make sure that the counter or tracker code
has been pasted correctly into your page.
Counter and Tracker Support
Because counters and trackers are provided as a free Aaddzz service,
only limited support is available. Before contacting us regarding
a problem with your counters or the Aaddzz system, please do the following:
- Visually inspect your HTML code for any obvious problems.
- Double-check your HTML using the Test Page feature in your Aaddzz account.
- Also, please check our Status Page
for information about the current state of the Aaddzz network. If you see
details of problems on that page while you are experiencing these problems,
you can be assured that our system administrators are aware of the problem
and you do not need to send any further notification.
Counter Style Elements
These elements determine how a counter looks on your Web page.
- Fonts and colors
- Aaddzz provides counters in hundreds of font and color combinations. Visit
the Digit Mania site to browse
the various styles.
- Digits
- You can use as many or as few digits as you like. The counter can fill unused digits
with zeros, with the background color, or with the whitespace color.
- Transparency
- You can set the background color of the counter to be transparent.
Note: Some fonts already have the background color marked as
transparent. The illustration below shows the same counter with the
preset background (black) and a transparent background.

- Alignment
- If you have more space in your counter than you have digits, you can align
the digits to the right, left, or center. You can also add leading zeros
to fill the remaining space.
The fonts used in Aaddzz counters come from many sources, and not all of them are well suited for color manipulation.
Here are some points to keep in mind:
- Only fonts that are not anti-aliased (smoothed) will look good when you make the background transparent.
- The font's background color may not be the color you expect.
If either a counter or tracker doesn't appear or doesn't look right, please double-check the HTML code.
